Are you a control freak? Do you like to plan every single detail?
I totally get you – my friends used to call me Monica – from the show FRIENDS. I used to control every single aspect of my life and the lives of the ones around me. When people did not act how I was expected them to do, I felt betrayed, I felt disrespected. And of course, this led me to react a certain way.
That reaction caused me to become known as a “bossy”, “high-maintenance” kind of person. Not at all sexy, fun, easy going.
For years I was frustrated that people saw me like that, cause I thought I was fun and easy going. At least in my mind, I was like that.
HAVE YOU SEEN MY OTHER VIDEO Can You Manifest Success Without Doing Anything? (you won’t believe this) – IT’S REALLY EYE OPENING. Click here to watch!
As I evolved in my personal development and I became a coach, I also learned to be more flexible, to accept the unknown, to order new beverages even though there was a risk of not liking them, to do something random even though it was not on my do to list, to stop making a to-do lists, to be more in the present moment, to think less and experience more.
This whole journey helped me become happier, healthier (less stress on a daily basis), have more faith and be sexier.
Do you want to be less of a control freak and way happier?
- Do something “bad” thing each day. It might be to go out, it might be to eat something that you shouldn’t, it might be to not do a task, it might be to take a nap, it might be to go to bed later, it might be to take a day off. Whatever it is, start small and do it often. Letting go of the need to control does not happen over night.
- When things don’t go as you hoped they would go, tell yourself “If it happened this way, it must be for my highest good. What is the opportunity in this situation? What can I learn? How can this help me?”
- Be compassionate. Next time someone disappoints you say “It’s okay.” Ask to understand the situation better: How did this happen? How can I help you next time? Don’t get upset and judge. Try to understand. You might actually learn something from this.
Now, I’d love to know.
Are you a control freak? What scares you the most? How do you practice being flexible?
